Where does a couple who live in New Jersey celebrate their wedding? In Michigan, of course. Emily Pelton and Christian Jiminez selected an amazing venue for their marriage. It was the historic Gem Theater in Detroit on August 25, 2018. The Gem has a long history, being designed by George D. Mason and build in the Spanish Revival architecture style in 1926. The proscenium panels and carpeting have been wonderfully restored to its original glory. Long ago it hosted vaudeville and burlesque, but now made available to host elegant events.
Emily dazzled everyone when she appeared in a chic strapless gown with lace covering the bodice, and holding a large bouquet of calla lily and sage colored greenery. Her attendants wore sophisticated black evening gowns, each unique. The groom in his dark three-piece suit and the groomsmen in grey suits with teal ties were a classy addition to the overall look and feel of the day.
The marriage ceremony was officiated by Cristina Rade as Emily and Christian vowed their love and lives to each other. Following the ceremony, the guests enjoyed an extraordinary reception at the Gem, finished off with a three-tiered cake topped with the bride and groom initials in gold.
With so many visual possibilities—the Gem elegance and Detroit’s urban hip neighborhoods, Adam and his Voice Media Collective team were able to seize the best of both in their photography and videography. Fabulous settings and unique photo compositions made for a visual delight to be appreciated for year to come.
Emily and Christian, we wish you all the best in your journey together and thank you for your confidence in our work to make your day memorable.
